Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp annually employs over 700 people as members of our instructional faculty, counseling staff, and support staff. Blue Lake’s seasonal employees work together to fill a variety of roles and provide a diverse and enriching learning experience for campers. Blue Lake’s Instructional Faculty are typically university professors or secondary school teachers. Faculty positions are typically 2-4 weeks in length and are residential. Blue Lake faculty members spend approximately 4-5 hours per day teaching students in a variety of settings.
Counseling Staff members reside with students and remain in residence for the entire season, including 9 days of orientation and training. Blue Lake’s counseling staff is typically made up of undergraduate and graduate students involved in education or arts-related fields.
Blue Lake employs Health Staff and Registered Nurses throughout the season to provide healthcare to the camp community. Health Staff members remain in residence for the entire season and are typically undergraduate students in health-related fields such as nursing, athletic training, or health science. Registered nurse positions are typically 2-weeks in length; both residential and commuter positions are available for registered nurses.
Blue Lake has a few Other Residential Positions, such as Production Manager, Program Assistant, and International Assistants. These positions are seasonal and residential, with specific dates, qualifications, and salaries varying by position.
Members of Blue Lake’s Support Staff live locally and commute daily for hourly positions in a variety of areas such as food service, housekeeping, maintenance, grounds, transportation, camp bank, camp store, and office assistance. Dates and hours vary based on the specific position.
