Before applying, make sure you have read the information we have provided about the positions, assistantships, artistic opportunities, policies, and dates of availability. Our number one priority is to ensure our campers have an outstanding summer camp experience that will foster their artistic and personal growth.  

Working at Blue Lake Fine Arts camp is both rewarding and demanding. Days are long, with many hours and little time off. It requires a great deal of stamina, enthusiasm, interpersonal skill, and patience, as well as the ability to work effectively with others. Staff members must remain receptive to our campers’ needs and take seriously the responsibility of nurturing them in a safe and engaging environment. We therefore suggest that you carefully consider these expectations, along with your personal commitment to them, before applying to work with us this summer.

Blue Lake employees will be expected to follow all guidelines and recommendations around COVID-19 safety prior to and throughout the duration of their employment. As you complete the application process, we encourage you to visit our website to learn more about our COVID-careful planning for the 2021 season. Applicants will receive further information and details during the interview, and employees will be trained on all policies and procedures. As national and state-level guidelines for camps evolve in the coming months, we will continue to refine our plans and protocols as we head into the summer.

There is no deadline for submitting application materials. Blue Lake interviews candidates and fills positions on a rolling basis, as we receive completed applications. Only applicants with all required information on file will be considered for an interview. Selected applicants with completed files will be contacted for an initial interview.

New applicants will also be asked to compose a brief email to each reference, requesting that they complete a recommendation form on your behalf. Your request and a link to the form will be emailed automatically to your references.

Audition recordings can be submitted separately from the application form. Auditions are required for applicants who wish to serve as performing musicians or sectional teachers as part of their job. Auditions can be submitted at
