33rd Annual Suzuki Family Camp 2010
The Suzuki Family Camp is designed as a family experience. Enrollment is open to violin, viola, cello, bass and piano students studying Suzuki literature. The daily schedule will include 3 one-hour classes: a small group lesson with individualized instruction, a larger technique class, and a repertoire review class. Housing in cabins and meals are available on the Blue Lake campgrounds.
String chamber music and orchestra classes are available for students 9 years and older and in violin Book 5, Viola, Book 3, Cello Book 3. Chamber music students have 4 classes daily, private lesson class, repertoire review class, orchestra, and quartet.
The Young Reader's Orchestra is intended to help the young student with reading and beginning orchestra literature. It is intended for students ages 7 and up in: Violin, Book 3-4, Viola, Book 2, Cello, Book 2. Class will meet every day in addition to the regularly scheduled 3 classes. No tape or CD required. The "Vivaldi" Orchestra will perform on the last concert of sessions 2 and 3.
The daily schedule for piano students includes a small group lesson with individualized instruction, repertoire review class, and either Orff movement or improvisation/theory depending on the age of the student. Piano chamber music is available for students age 9 or older in Book 3, Kuhlau Sonatina and above. Piano chamber music students have 4 classes daily.
Other activities available to students and families are: daily parent-teacher panels, recitals, fiddling, pre-pre twinkle classes for younger siblings, adult piano lessons, and an adult orchestra session. Other recreational activities include swimming, soccer games, and the Art Barn, a favorite of young and old, where different activities are planned for each hour of the day.
