36th Annual Suzuki Family Camp 2013 Blue Lake Suzuki Family Camp, in its 36th season, is designed as an opportunity for families to learn and play together following the teaching of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki. “Nurturing and positive early environment foster high musical ability in any child guided properly by teachers and parents working together.” -- Shinichi Suzuki Camping at Blue Lake provides an opportunity to experience West Michigan's beautiful natural features while focusing on family-oriented Suzuki training. Families camp in rustic cabins and dine together in a cafeteria-style setting at Marek Hall. Campfire rings and picnic tables are available throughout the housing areas. Blue Lake's instructional and housing facilities span nearly 300 acres of Manistee National Forest, with wandering footpaths and trails through the woods and along Little Blue Lake. The camp offers two large swimming pools overlooking the lakeshore and central park beach area. Parent volunteers are an integral part of the Suzuki Family camp experience at Blue Lake, providing a wide variety of extra activities for parents and students alike. If you have a special interest in any area, and wish to share this interest with either students or parents, please attach a note to your registration form. A special block of time will be reserved for your activity. Scholarships Available: Two Nancy C. Barber String Scholarships are available to cover lesson fees for one session each for a student in Bk 1-2, and a student in Bk 3-5. For requirements and application materials, contact Pat Smith, registrar. The deadline for receipt of forms is April 15, 2013. New for 2013 — Suzuki Guitar at Blue Lake: Blue Lake is pleased to add Guitar to the list of instruments studied during the 2nd Session of 2013.
