

Blue Lake International Ballet Ensemble The 2014 Blue Lake International Ballet Ensemble, under the co-artistic direction of Jamie Brege and Cory Coei, will showcase a variety of classical repertoire and new works. The ensemble will visit 6 communities throughout Europe during their 3 week performance tour, culminating with a special homecoming presentation at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mr. Goei began his training at the Grand Rapids Ballet under the directorship of Robert Estner and Charthel Arthur. His summer studies include the Joffrey Ballet, Cleveland/San Jose Ballet, and Houston Ballet. Mr. Goei’s interest in classical and contemporary work has allowed him to work and learn from outstanding choreographers, teachers and directors throughout the United States. Currently a member of the James Sewell Ballet in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he has also danced professionally with the Grand Rapids Ballet, Dayton Ballet and Ballet Met. Mr. Goei has been on the summer faculty of Blue Lake for two years. This will be his second tour as the International Ballet Ensemble Artistic Director. Ms. Jamie Brege currently lives in Boston, Massachusetts, where she teaches ballet and modern for the Boston Ballet School. In December of 2010, Ms. Brege completed her Master of Arts in Dance Education in Higher Education, American Ballet Theatre Pedagogy Certificate. She is an ABT® Certified Teacher, ABT® National Training Curriculum, Primary through Level 7 and Partnering. Ms. Brege graduated Magna cum Laude with her B.F.A. in Dance Performance from Purchase College, SUNY where she performed works by choreographers such as George Balanchine, Bronislava Nijinksa, David Parsons, and Helen Pickett. Ms. Brege also studied at Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts in Perth, Australia. Ms. Brege began her training at the School of the Grand Rapids Ballet Company in Grand Rapids, Michigan and attended intensive programs at American Ballet Theatre, Vail International Dance Festival, and The Juilliard School. Ms. Brege has taught and choreographed throughout the United States and Europe, including the School of the Grand Rapids Ballet Company, Purchase College, Boston University, South Shore Ballet Theatre, Greenwich Dance Studio, Dance In the Annex, and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, where she is co-artistic director of the International Ballet Ensemble, and has served as guest faculty at American Ballet Theatre’s JKO School. |
