Call for Blue Lake Alumni

More than 100,000 students have attended Blue Lake since its inaugural season in 1966, with approximately half coming from the Detroit/Ann Arbor region. Many have gone on to professional careers gracing the world’s greatest venues, from jazz recording artists James Carter and Geri Allen to members of the New York and Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestras. Others have excelled in their chosen professions, such as Bloomfield Hill’s pilot John Murray, a decorated Naval aviator and Northwest Airlines Captain, and Chelsea physician Dr. Diane Howlin, honored for her community service and coordination of the Hope Medical Clinic. All share the common experience of attending Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and many point to that moment in their lives as a catalyst for positive change and inspiration.

A special invitation is extended to Blue Lake International Choir alumni to attend the choral performance on Monday, July 26, and to Blue Lake International Youth Symphony Orchestra alumni to attend the orchestra performance on Wednesday, July 28.

One of the visions for creating Experience Blue Lake is to provide a setting where past campers can reconnect. Blue Lake is currently reaching out to alumni across the state and encourages past campers to get in touch and register at www.bluelake.org/alumni
